Fifty years ago the Magestar fell from the sky and ended the world as humanity knew it. Survivors banded together to forge a path forward. Your town, Two Hills, rose from their efforts. Now it's time to set out and chart the surrounding lands, exploring a world changed by a magical apocalypse.

Art by Dean Spencer

In Magestar, players work together to build a map. Six core moves shape how this map develops, with five playbooks building on these core moves.

  • The Seer peers through time and space, each decision weighted with the knowledge of eons.
  • The Slayer used to travel the land hunting monsters. Their keen senses and navigational skills are invaluable in their new role supporting their community.
  • The Vampire was reshaped into an energy-draining monster by the Magestar's arrival. Sometimes a monster is exactly what you need on your side.
  • The Witch supports their allies through the use of enchanted artefacts.
  • The Wizard has honed their magic by studying fragments of the Magestar.

Great game. My mates and I  had a lot of fun playing this. I plan on using it to help come up with maps/ locations for D&D and DH.

Thanks! It should work great for something like that- I've thought about doing it myself! =P

Really fun concept and really fun execution! I love the focus on exploration and the game really gives players a lot of tools to engage with a self-built narrative around that exploratory focus with a mysteryious and intriguing world building hook.

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you like the game. =)
